Emergency Temporary Refrigerated Storage

Coroner Northrup has extended the use of the refrigerated storage capacity at the coroner's office to local hospitals, funeral homes, and other county coroners in emergencies.

Many hospitals, funeral homes, and coroner offices have minimal refrigerated storage capacity and can exceed that storage capacity during equipment failures and/or mass fatality incidents where higher numbers of deaths occur in a shorter time frame.

Additionally, some homicide cases require longer periods of refrigerated storage due to pending criminal prosecution cases and unidentified remains require longer periods of refrigerated storage pending positive identification.
